Deputy Pastoral Manager – The Holden School, Leigh.
Location: The Holden School, Leigh WN7 4SB. Salary: £24,500.00 per annum (not pro rata). Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with varying start times. Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only. UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.
As part of our continued growth, this role is to join our close-knit team at The Holden School, part of Acorn Education. The Deputy Pastoral Manager will assist the Pastoral Team in developing the school as a high quality specialist provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and those diagnosed with autism or displaying autism-related behaviours.
Safeguarding the welfare of the young people in our care will be your primary responsibility. All duties are carried out under the direction and supervision of the Headteacher.
About the role and team: provide pastoral care to pupils of all abilities in a safe and orderly learning environment, support the teaching team with behaviour management to remove barriers to learning, and collaborate with stakeholders to support pupil development and well-being.
Responsibilities
* Provide support, encouragement and pastoral care to pupils at the school.
* Work with a range of stakeholders (parents/carers, support staff, onsite therapy team, outreach agencies and other schools) to ensure continuity and progress for individual pupils.
* Share the school’s responsibility to support and promote the learning, personal development and well-being of all students.
* Assist the Pastoral Team in developing and maintaining high standards of behaviour and a positive learning environment.
* Safeguard the welfare of pupils as a primary duty.
* Operate under the direction and supervision of the Headteacher.
Qualifications
* Grade C or above in Maths and English.
* Experience required: Must have experience of working with pupils with SEND.
