Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic, organised, and enthusiastic MOD General Practitioner to join our primary health care team at Excellent Medical Facility. Defence Primary Health Care (DPHC) provides a blend of team-based primary care and occupational health support to military personnel. The post holder will primarily work at HMS Excellent but may be required to work across all six sites of the Combined Practice: Collingwood, Nelson, Southwick Park, Sultan and Thorney Island as required.

Job Responsibilities
* Provide general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours.
* Maximise the levels of health, wellbeing, and employability of Service personnel.
* Undertake mandatory medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.
* Supervise management of communicable diseases, including monitoring and reporting through the Service chain.
* Represent the Principal Medical Officer (PMO) on medical practice related issues where necessary, including participation in unit health committees.
Qualifications
* Registration with the UK General Medical Council (GMC) and on the General Practitioner (GP) Register.
* Hold a current UK licence to practice.
* Proof of membership registration number.
* Experience in providing general and occupational healthcare to a population with medical needs.
Location
His Majestys Ship (HMS) Excellent Medical Facility, Whale Island, Portsmouth, PO2 8ER, United Kingdom. Primary site: HMS Excellent; may be required to work across six sites.
Contract
Permanent, full‑time (partial roles available) with standard Civil Service contract.
Salary
£91,535 to £108,743 per annum (pro‑rata for part time). Salary award pending.
