Temporary Accommodation Officer Role Overview: We are looking for a Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our Housing Services team. You will provide excellent customer-focused support, ensuring safe and well-managed interim accommodation for people in housing need. Key Responsibilities: Support Housing Options Officers in placing and managing households in interim accommodation. Manage rent accounts, minimise arrears, and prepare regular rent statements. Serve notices and correspondence as required and assist with lock changes or police requests. Conduct health and safety checks, ensure timely repairs, and complete weekly fire alarm testing. Provide high-quality customer service to vulnerable households, handling sensitive situations with empathy. Identify opportunities to improve the Housing Advice & Allocations service. Ensure policies and procedures for interim accommodation are up-to-date. Skills & Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience delivering customer-focused services. Experience maintaining electronic records and handling administrative tasks. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with vulnerable clients. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied workload. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel). Patience, empathy, and a problem-solving attitude. Desirable: Knowledge of housing and homelessness services. Experience managing a varied caseload. Customer service training. Understanding of local authority functions. Qualifications: Minimum 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths. Full driving license and access to a vehicle. Location: Office-based, Saltisford Hours: Full-time Contract: 3 months with potential extension, possibility of permanent role for the right candidate
