Production Engineer required for Cheltenham based manufacturing company paying c£39,000 + 25 days holiday + the bank holidays, pension and DiS. Working hours Monday to Friday, with an early finish on a Friday.
Our client supplies to the automotive, aerospace, gas sectors as well as small independent companies.
As Production Engineer for this company your duties will include the following:
* improving manufacturing methods of existing products
* liaising with manufacturing for new products
* investigating and implementing actions with regards to the quality of products
* involvement in R&D projects to ensure our client maintains their standard within the market
* design of tool, fixtures and machine parts using SolidWorks 3D CAD system
* generating CNC programmes using SolidCAM software and supporting implementation
* providing technical support to the sales department as required
* tooling development
* creating costing models to support new business generation
* investigate any operational problems that impact production efficiency's
The successful Production Engineer will need to have experience in the following areas:
* 5S initiatives in manufacturing and machine build
* previous experience within a manufacturing/engineering environment
* experience of using SolidWorks and SolidCAM and be able to generate CNC programs using SolidCAM software
