We are recruiting for a passionate Corporate Communications Manager to join our team, who'll help grow and protect the external reputation of Kingfisher as we deliver the ‘Powered by Kingfisher’ strategy. The successful candidate will have significant experience in financial communications, able to deliver key financial activity jointly with the Head of Communications.
What's the job:
Deliver outstanding financial communications activity around our key financial activity.
Lead the delivery of impactful communications campaigns across earned media, social media and digital channels. Find creative and compelling ways to communicate the ‘Powered by Kingfisher’ strategic story, build our employer brand and support our Responsible Business agenda.
Play a key role in coordinating the Kingfisher press office, handling media enquiries and building relationships with key journalists.
Design and deliver a conference speaking programme for key Kingfisher spokespeople, briefing and advising them to maximise impact.
Lead the process from an External Communications perspective around the Kingfisher Annual Report, support the drafting of relevant sections of the Strategic Report.
Support communications plans and positioning for the Group Executive and leadership team, including the CEO.
Support the network of external communications teams of our banners from across the Group and find opportunities for collaboration and sharing ways of working.
Develop issues management strategies including reactive statements and identify emerging reputational risks.
Operate as a business partner providing counsel and support on PR and corporate social media to key business functions.
What you'll bring:
Experience in a corporate communications role in a large, listed business or communications agency working with UK-listed companies. Media relations experience is vital.
Ability to develop and drive multichannel corporate communications campaigns to land messaging with key audiences, with experience of creating engaging social media content.
Experience in communicating financial calendar moments for a listed company with an understanding of relevant business language.
Strength in building positive relationships both internally and externally including with key agency partners.
Clear understanding of what drives the media agenda, creating stories which will resonate with external stakeholders. Political knowledge and awareness would be advantageous, but isn't crucial.
Strategic problem solver, with the ability to balance both the strategic and tactical.
Confident representing the business in the external world e.g. networking, events, conferences and meetings as appropriate.
