Job Overview
Join our friendly pharmacy clinical trials team. We provide pharmacy support for the expanding R&D work of University Hospital of Liverpool Group, with a large portfolio of studies requiring the input of the pharmacy department. We are involved in trials covering many clinical specialties across our hospitals, managing the CTIMP portfolio for the Walton Centre for Neurology and Liverpool Women’s Hospital, and working with external sponsors. Annex 21 training positions will also be considered for qualified technicians with no trials experience.
Responsibilities
* Dispensing and checking clinical trial prescriptions
* Writing and checking individual trial procedures
* Receipt and management of storage of investigational medicinal products
* Support wider trials team
* Support cross site if required
* Weekend and late rotas in the main dispensary
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
* Excellent verbal communication skills / Excellent written communication skills
* Ability to future plan
* Ability to understand role and service priorities
* Ability to work accurately and under pressure
* Ability and willingness to adapt to change
Desirable Criteria
* Aseptic skills still current
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
* B/TEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent)
Desirable Criteria
* Registered as a practising Pharmacy Technician with the RPSGB
Experience
Essential Experience
* Demonstrable post qualification experience in hospital pharmacy
* 12 months post registration experience in clinical trials
* Experience with a range of clinical trials
Desirable Experience
* Experience of training staff
* Experience of Audit
