Our client is an award-winning defendant firm with offices across the UK. They are currently recruiting for a 1-3 PQE solicitor or chartered legal executive with previous professional liability experience to join their Manchester Professional Liability team. This is a hybrid position.
Your new role
This Professional Liability Associate role will see you:
* Manage a caseload of professional indemnity claims, including defending solicitors, accountants, surveyors, and a small amount of medical malpractice work.
* Support senior lawyers in large-scale, complex disputes.
* Advise clients on coverage issues, liability, and quantum.
* Draft pleadings, witness statements, and other legal documents.
* Conduct negotiations and attend mediations and settlement meetings.
* Liaise with clients, counsel, and experts to progress cases efficiently.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and client service standards.
What you'll need to succeed
* You must be a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with 1-3 years post-qualification experience.
* Previous experience handling or assisting in professional liability cases.
* Strong technical knowledge of civil procedure and professional liability principles.
* Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple files and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong client care and communication skills.
