Cardinal Hume Catholic School is a mixed, non-selective, Roman Catholic academy with sixth form in Tyne and Wear, serving students from the age of 11 up to 18. The school, situated in Gateshead, has over 1500 students on roll. It belongs to the Hexham and Newcastle Diocese and is part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust. The school was identified as Outstanding by Ofsted in 2014 and by the Hexham and Newcastle Diocese in 2019.

Cardinal Hume Catholic School's aim is to develop student's knowledge of the Catholic faith in a loving and caring learning environment. Students have the opportunity to extend their experiences beyond the classroom through a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including art club, the debating society, music lessons, our outdoor adventure programme and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Moreover, the school has an excellent reputation for its sports teams and their successes over many years.
Cardinal Hume Catholic School has an excellent local and national reputation. It has been awarded World Class School status, is a successful Teaching School and is also a successful regional Hub School in both Computing and Modern Foreign Languages.
