Do you have a strong desire to improve performance, finance and service development? Are you finance focused and able to meet performance standards whilst working under pressure, independently and make autonomous decisions? If you have an interest in developing your leadership skills, welcoming service development and innovation then we are very interested in hearing from you.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Women's and Children's division as a Business Manager. In this varied and interesting role, you will work closely with our Clinical and Operational Managers to provide operational leadership across business planning, performance improvement, transformation and programme delivery. You will be instrumental in supporting our patients with high quality and cost effective care and support the division in achieving our financial standards. NHS experience is essential, a can do attitude and commercially focused approach is key for this role.

The successful candidate will be working across Colchester and Ipswich hospital sites.


Main duties of the job

* To lead on all aspects of operational business planning, service planning, CIP identification, project management and the development and writing of business cases within the division, ensuring they are consistency checked, contain relevant information and have relevant financial information.
* Support the identification of cost improvement opportunities and administer the quality assurance process and work with the CDGs to put actions in place to realise the opportunity.
* Work with the CDGs to project manage the implementation of cost improvement and efficiency measures across all areas of the Trust, highlighting delays, issues and risks.
* Challenge staff at all levels to deliver benefits through committed action and change management.
* Support the CDGs with a variety of projects and national submissions.
* Support the CDGs with clinical transformation programmes.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Educated to masters level or equivalent experience
* Management/leadership qualification or equivalent experience at post graduate level
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Further relevant training
* Project Management Qualification


Experience

* Proven experience of working in a management/leadership role
* Experience of managing, leading and motivating a team
* Leading service changes to improve performance
* Leading projects
* Responsible for a budget and budget setting
* Identifying and interpreting national policy and implementing required changes
* Business case development and annual planning, longer term planning


Knowledge

* Financial procedures including budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes
* In depth understanding of change management
* Able to use IT systems including Microsoft Office
* Good understanding of the current NHS agenda and healthcare policy
* Knowledge of service improvements/transformation and project management
