Job Title: Day Centre Support Worker
Client Group: Adults with Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour
Pay Rate: £17–£19 per hour
Hours: 08:45 – 16:30, Monday to Friday (36 hours per week)

Role Overview
We are currently recruiting an experienced Day Centre Support Worker to support adults with Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Autism, and Challenging Behaviour.
This role involves delivering person-centred support throughout the day, both within the day centre and out in the community. You will engage service users in meaningful activities, promote independence through a learning-based approach, and ensure they have a positive and fulfilling experience while attending the centre.
The Day Centre offers a wide range of activity rooms and regularly organises community outings, making this a varied and rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities

Supporting adults with Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour
*
Engaging service users in indoor and outdoor activities, including community access
*
Promoting independence and life skills using a structured, learning-based approach
*
Supporting service users with games, activities, and daily programmes
*
Assisting with transferring service users from transport into the centre (Passenger Assistance Training Scheme certificate required)
*
Providing personal care where required
*
Maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment at all times
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
*
Have a minimum of 2 years’ UK experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities
*
Hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum Level 2 required)
*
Have experience supporting individuals with Autism and/or Physical Disabilities
*
Hold a valid DBS issued within the last 12 months
*
Have a good standard of written and verbal English
*
Be willing and able to provide personal care
*
Demonstrate a strong understanding of Learning Disabilities with practical examples
Additional Information
If you have a DBS registered on the Update Service, we can offer work more quickly. You must be able to provide 5 years of references and have all mandatory training in date, or be willing to complete this prior to starting.
