About the Role
Southend University Hospital is inviting a qualified Clinical Physiologist for a 12‑month fixed‑term Band 5 position in the Heart & Chest (Cardiorespiratory) department.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform a broad range of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures to specialist standards, producing accurate outcomes and high‑quality reports.
* Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, upholding Trust values of respect, excellence and compassion.
* Assist in the training of apprentice and student physiologists.
* Complete work in a timely and efficient manner, meeting deadlines and keeping senior colleagues informed of any changes to workload.
* Maintain clinical documentation and databases, contribute data for statistical analysis, and adhere to departmental record‑keeping standards.
* Exercise initiative and judgment in problem‑solving, escalating issues appropriately and responding to senior advice.
* Handle telephone queries from patients, relatives and general practitioners in a calm and professional manner; provide community testing where appropriate.
* Perform any additional duties requested by senior physiologists.
Qualifications & Requirements
* BSc (or equivalent) in Clinical Physiology.
* AHCS registration or willingness to obtain and maintain registration.
* Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
* Experience working in a cardiac/respiratory physiologic environment (desirable).
