Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Responsibilities
* Development and delivery of high‑quality software solutions using industry‑aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
* Cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
* Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
* Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence.
* Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
* Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
Leadership and Influence
* Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
* Lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance, and determine reward outcomes.
* Collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions, govern risk, and strengthen controls.
Qualifications
* Experience with Permissions and Profiles where policy as code defines a set of permission roles, and with security model paradigms such as ReBAC, ABAC, and RBAC.
* Strong experience with Java and BDD testing concepts.
* Experience with Public Cloud (AWS) and understanding of authorisation and authentication technologies such as Policy as Code, IAM.
* Willingness to constructively disrupt and challenge the norm.
* Relationship building skills, patience, and resilience to change current thinking and practices.
* Ability to translate technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Experience with Ping solutions (PingGateway, PingAM, PingIDM, PingDS).
