This special school supports students aged 6 years and upwards with a range of conditions, including Autism, PDA, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. They are looking for a dedicated Primary teacher to join their team.
Your role will involve guiding students through the learning process, fostering their abilities, and boosting their self-esteem.
As an advocate for Special Educational Needs (SEN), you will play a crucial role in ensuring that each child is equipped to thrive and access diverse opportunities within a nurturing and secure environment. Your responsibilities include crafting curriculum-aligned lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student and contributing to the overall daily operations of the school.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Provide an outstanding learning journey and adapt your delivery to meet the needs of individual students.
2. Plan, prepare, evaluate, and review learning programmes to ensure they reflect sound practice and promote physical, emotional, social, cultural, and moral development.
3. Teach both individual pupils and small groups, reviewing lessons, learning styles, and teaching approaches regularly, in accordance with school policy.
4. Review curriculum and school activities to ensure they support students' development.
5. Establish relationships that build confidence, trust, understanding, and mutual respect as students progress through the years.
6. Be a role model in all aspects of your work.
Qualifications:
1. Recognized teaching qualification, with experience in Special Educational Needs preferred.
2. Profound understanding of ASD and SEMH, with strategies for adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
3. Strong organizational skills for managing tasks and lesson planning effectively.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
5. Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with unique requirements.
