A fast-growing drinks distribution company is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their Finance team at their offices in Manchester.
The Role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity, managing audit processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead internal and external audit processes and liaise with auditors
* Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure Excise Duty compliance
* Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounts
* Act as main point of contact for HMRC queries and audits
* Monitor foreign exchange exposures and support treasury functions
* Track and reconcile money market investments
* Prepare detailed cash flow forecasts and variance analysis
* Support finance system reviews and implementations
* Maintain and improve financial controls and compliance frameworks
What You'll Need:
* ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant
* Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience
* Strong knowledge of UK tax rules, VAT, and Excise Duties
* Experience with HMRC and audit processes
* Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
* High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
