Responsible to: Foodbank Managers
Responsible for: Managing the movement and procurement of stock, and the operation of Littlehampton & District Foodbank's warehouse
Overall description of the role:
* Work with staff and a team of volunteers to ensure that all areas of the foodbank centre(s) for Littlehampton & District Foodbank are run efficiently
* Coordinating effective stock control and arranging/delivering timely transportation of collections and deliveries
* Meeting and upholding legislative standards - i.e. Health & Safety/Environmental Health
* Work in association with foodbank managers to ensure clients receive a streamlined service of support with food and other provisions.
Specific responsibilities:
* Reporting to foodbank managers
* Provide the foodbank managers with regular reports on stock levels and items needed
* Bring to the attention of the foodbank managers any concerns regarding the day-to-day operation of the Littlehampton & District foodbank warehouse(s)
Trussell compliance
* Ensure that all warehousing processes and procedures are followed as per the Trussell Foodbank Operating Manual
* Coordinate quarterly stock takes and reconciliation to verify the accuracy of data records
Foodbank centre(s) & volunteers
* Liaise with foodbank managers and organise the re-supply of food and other provisions to centres, as required
* Coordinate the volunteer team at the foodbank warehouse(s) and during stock sorting shifts
* Driving the foodbank van to deliver to clients as and when necessary
Food store(s)
* Take responsibility for the security of the warehouse(s) and contents
* Coordinate the day-to-day running of the warehouse(s) including sorting, packing, stock rotation, monitoring stock requirements, issuing stock, maintaining accurate records, and disposal of unsuitable items
* Monitor Health and Safety, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and good practice
Food supplies
* Monitor stock levels and liaise with the foodbank managers about specific shortages and requirements
* Coordinate the delivery/collection of food donated by the community
Data
* Ensure that all warehouse paperwork is stored securely and entered onto all relevant data collection systems
* Be familiar with the on-line data collection system, monitoring the key data indicators (particularly regarding stock levels)

Experience
* Planning and organising the day-to-day running of a warehouse
* Observing relevant regulations, including manual handling and health and safety
* Leading and working as part of a team
Working pattern
* Monday 9am-1pm
* Tuesday 9am-3pm
* Thursday 9am-3pm
* Friday 9am-1pm (may be subject to change, but not without notice)
* Occasional weekend overtime available
