Job Description
As a Private Client Legal Secretary, you will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to fee earners within the Private Client department. You’ll play a key role in helping the team deliver a first-class service to clients on matters such as Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing efficient secretarial support to solicitors including audio typing (digital dictation), copy typing, and document formatting
* Preparing and amending legal documents and correspondence
* Liaising with clients by phone, email, and in person, maintaining professionalism and discretion
* Managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and organising meetings
* Handling and processing client files, including opening and closing files in line with compliance procedures
* Assisting with billing, time recording, and other financial tasks
* Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with firm policies and legal requirements
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within a Private Client department
* Excellent typing speed and accuracy (both audio and copy)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of attention to detail and organisational ability
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems
* Discretion, tact, and a commitment to client confidentiality
