Contracting Solicitor

Our Office of the General Counsel advises on a wide variety of risk issues that arise in the delivery of professional services across assurance, tax, and advisory sectors.

A look into the role
We seek a commercial contracts lawyer for our in-house legal team. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Negotiating contracts with clients, including MSAs and public-sector framework agreements, and advising on contracts with sub-contractors, suppliers, and others.
2. Improving standard terms of business based on negotiations and experience.
3. Handling various commercial contracting issues such as:
* Advising on local-country adoption contracts for global frameworks, agreements with Grant Thornton International member-firms, data-sharing, secondment, and software supply contracts.
* Interpreting contractual provisions for colleagues.
* Providing legal input on termination clauses, NDAs, tendering, and disclosure agreements.
* Advising on risk management and compliance issues.
* Handling collaboration, referral, and introduction agreements.
* Collaborating with the General Counsel and risk management teams to support staff and stakeholders.
Knowing you’re right for us
The minimum qualifications include being a qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in:
1. Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
2. Professional liability law knowledge.
3. Understanding of professional services contracting and risk management.
4. A pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
5. Self-motivation and managing conflicting demands.
6. Excellent communication and drafting skills.
