Overview
Required as soon as possible, we have a rare opportunity for someone to join us as an HR Assistant at the Royal Grammar School, Newcastle. This is a varied role which will provide efficient and confidential administrative support to the HR function, ensuring the smooth running of HR processes and compliance with safer recruitment practices in line with Independent School Standards and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities
* Provide efficient and confidential administrative support to the HR function.
* Assist with HR processes and recruitment, ensuring compliance with safer recruitment practices.
* Support a small HR team of three within a busy department serving an organisation with over 250 employees, volunteers, self-employed service providers and peripatetic teachers.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience of working in a school is desirable but not essential.
* Flexibility and initiative; keen to develop a career in HR and potential for progression.
Salary and hours
Salary: In the region of £27,000 - £28,000 gross per annum (full-time equivalent, all year round) or circa £21,000 - £22,000 gross per annum for term-time only + staff days.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, all year round or term-time only + staff training days (to be discussed at interview). This is a permanent role.
