Handyperson/Woodworker - 6-12 months
Mon-Thurs 8am-4.30pm
Friday - 8am-3.30pm
39 hours per week
Our client manufactures high-end products servicing the marine sector with an ever-increasing product range. Customer expectations are excellent in product design, cost and delivery performance.
They have a new opportunity for a Woodworker/Handyperson for 6-12 months to assemble wooden stillages, crates, jigs and other products for the site as required. In addition the role will involve general basic maintenance tasks
Applicants must have previous experience working with woodworking and be able to work as part of a team or unsupervised, with a great attitude to Housekeeping and Health and safety.
Responsibilities:
• The ability to read and understand engineering drawings and associated data outlining product requirements would be an advantage.
• Should be familiar with the safe use of power tools: Cross Cutt Saw, Rip Saw, Panel Saw.
• Willing to undertake a wide range of tasks, including site maintenance tasks within reason : Hanging doors, basic repairs and site improvements.
• The ability to work on your own initiative to overcome design and build issues.
• Responding to the task loading from the Team Leader will require a degree of flexibility.
The Person:
• Proven experience of working from engineering drawings
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Have a working understanding of the principles and tools of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools within a low volume, high quality manufacturing facility.
• Understanding of Health and Safety
• Ability to work productively, efficiently, and effectively with initiative and drive, even under tight deadlines and pressure, while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team at all levels.
• Identifies with the Company’s Core Values and encourages promotion amongst team members.
• Overtime may be required depending on company production needs, including weekend work.
