Introduction
DB Cargo UK are currently recruiting for a Team Member to join our Breakdown & Recovery department based at Millerhill. The role is responsible for assisting the Breakdown & Recovery team when dealing with derailments or incidents on the UK rail network. Breakdown & Recovery is a national service, providing safe and efficient restoration of normal running conditions on the rail network following an incident. You will be working to the instruction of the Breakdown & Recovery Supervisor at all times. This position is based at Millerhill, but you may be required to travel around the UK as needed.
What will you be doing?
* Support the supervisor and team in restoring rail services safely and efficiently following incidents.
* Create a safe working environment in the depot and when on site.
* Manual handling of packing materials and jacking equipment.
* Undertake cutting/welding tasks as competence permits.
* Carry out maintenance in the depot to ensure equipment is safe and stored correctly.
* Proactively use depot time to maintain equipment and develop skills to support the wider team.
* Be available to work shifts covering a 24/7 period including bank holidays, weekends and nights.
* Position is 42 hours per week.
