Band 6, Permanent, Full-time (flexible working available). Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per year. Location: Evesham Community Hospital, Waterside, Evesham, Worcestershire, WR11 1JT. Reference: C9798-1643.
Job locations include community hospitals, mental health inpatient settings and a range of community services, in addition to supporting Worcestershire Nursing Homes and GPs.
Main duties
* Promote and enable the consistent provision of infection prevention and control and clean, safe care to services and areas covered by the team.
* Provide advice and guidance; participate in audits and assurance visits; surveillance and advice on management of infections.
* Deliver infection prevention and control training and education.
* Communicate effectively to inspire and motivate others to maintain high-quality infection prevention and control standards.
* Work with patients, staff, contractors and visitors, considering building design, hygiene of buildings and equipment to minimise infection risks.
* Generate reports and use IT systems; work to deadlines as part of a team and independently.

Person specification
Essential
* Able to meet the travel requirements of the role
* Registered General Nurse with at least 5 years post-registration experience
* Proven managerial experience
* Significant clinical experience with an interest in infection prevention and control
* Experience as Infection Prevention and Control Link Nurse
Desirable
* Experience of clinical audit and surveillance schemes
* Active research interest

* Positive attitude and ability to act on feedback
* Clear and effective communication in English (verbal and written)
* Ability to communicate with staff at all levels with tact and diplomacy
* Good presentation skills
* Ability to foster and deliver a high-quality, efficient infection prevention and control service

Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse
* A teaching certificate
* Infection prevention and control module/training
