1:1 Teaching Assistant – Year 7 Transition Support – Clitheroe
Are you passionate about supporting young people as they start their secondary school journey? We are working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Clitheroe who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 7 pupil transitioning into school this September.
Location:
Clitheroe, Lancashire (BB7)
Contract:
Full-time, term-time only (starting September)
The Role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored 1:1 support to a student joining Year 7, helping them settle into secondary school life.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the pupil during lessons and transitions throughout the school day
* Helping to build confidence, routine, and independence
* Assisting with emotional regulation and social interaction
* Acting as a consistent, supportive presence during the transition from primary to secondary
* Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff
We would love to hear from candidates who:
* Have experience working with children or young people (school-based or care background)
* Have a calm, patient, and nurturing approach
* Are confident supporting children with additional needs (e.g. ASD, anxiety, SEMH)
* Are reliable, resilient, and committed to making a difference

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
