Group Finance Manager (12-month Maternity Cover)
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Contract: 12‑month fixed term, hybrid working (3 days onsite), Salary: £50,000‑£60,000 per annum (depending on experience).
Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer, within the TPN Group.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and financial reporting in line with group deadlines.
* Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, including balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintaining the chart of accounts.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to shape decision‑making.
* Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and supplier payments.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, active cash‑flow forecasting and management, and financial planning activities.
* Ensure compliance with VAT, HMRC, UK GAAP and all statutory and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain finance procedures, controls, and documentation, supporting audits and process improvements.
* Prepare board and investor reporting, including monthly KPI packs.
* Support, manage and develop finance team members where required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a finance role, ideally in healthcare or private sector.
* Proficiency in Sage and advanced Excel, with experience building financial models, budgets and forecasts.
* Experience with Xero and Zoho is desirable.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of UK financial regulations.
* Experience in financial planning, analysis, and management reporting.
