Job Title: Sessional Youth Support Worker
Salary: NMW to £14.29 per hour (dependant on qualifications)
Hours: Evenings – Monday to Friday
Location: Sessional delivery across East Durham – Seaham, Shotton, Horden, Murton, Peterlee
Responsible For: No direct reports, responsibility for the support of Volunteers and Support Workers
Reports To: Project Manager
About the role
Working as a member of the Youth Team to lead in engagement with targeted communities to provide and promote inclusive opportunities for young people. The postholder will provide a valuable resource for Groundwork North East & Cumbria to enable it to achieve the Trust objectives. Dealing with a variety of Youth project delivery tasks in a diverse and busy internal and external environment, ensuring deadlines are met whilst maintaining quality
This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service
About you
We are seeking self-motivated, enthusiastic sessional Youth Support Workers to join our team, working in targeted communities to develop positive working relationships with young people and enable them to achieve their potential. These roles will support the development of a full range of personal and social development opportunities for young people, meeting their needs through community engagement and capacity building.
We want someone like you who will actively engage with participants and support the Youth & Community Engagement Officer and Lead Youth Workers. Your role will require you to be enthusiastic and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You need to provide a professional service and develop effective working relationships with other members of staff, volunteers, participants and external partners, and facilitate delivery across a diverse programme of youth support projects in targeted areas.
