We’re now looking for an experienced and inspiring leader to take on the role of Site Director at our Irvine Primary Manufacturing Site. This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring supply continuity, and fostering a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Set and deliver the site’s strategic direction in alignment with GSK’s global production and supply plans.
* Lead cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals and ensure seamless integration with the wider GSK network.
Customer Service & Supply Chain
* Ensure reliable supply of products to meet customer demand.
* Drive financial performance and embed a culture of continuous improvement through GSK Production System (GPS).
* Manage site interfaces with corporate and commercial functions, proactively mitigating supply risks.
Quality & Compliance
* Own and implement the Quality Management System (QMS) across the site.
* Ensure full compliance with all quality standards and regulatory requirements.
* Promote a “Right First Time” quality culture and lead audit readiness and response.
Health, Safety & Environment
* Ensure site-wide compliance with EHS regulations and GSK standards.
* Champion safe working practices and employee wellbeing.
People Leadership
* Inspire, develop and lead a large, diverse team to achieve operational excellence.
* Foster a high-performance culture through effective performance management and employee engagement.
Change & Process Management
* Lead and deliver change initiatives that enhance processes, technology and team capability.
External Representation
* Act as the face of GSK to external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, customers and the local community.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
* Degree in a science or engineering discipline.
* Proven experience leading senior teams in a manufacturing and supply environment, ideally with primary operations exposure.
* Strong technical knowledge in Quality, Operations and/or Logistics.
* Deep understanding of EHS and regulatory compliance.
* Commercial acumen and ability to represent the site within the broader GSK Supply Chain.
* Experience navigating complex, matrixed organisations and influencing across multiple stakeholders.
* Track record of building trust, empowering teams and driving cultural transformation.
* Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
