The postholder will have the Area leading role in Fire, Safety & Health (FS&H), Security, Information Management, IT, Telephony, facilities, Infrastructure and Estates Management providing assurance and information to the Area Business Manager (ABM) and Chief Crown Prosecutor (CCP). To provide regular updates to the Area Strategic Board (ASB). To ensure Units are complying with Approved Codes of Practice (ACoP) and legislation. Provide advice and guidance to staff and managers on relevant subject matter. The postholder will work collaboratively with peers across Partner Areas; sharing good practice and lessons learnt to deliver the business and to ensure resilience.
Responsibilities
* Completion and co‑ordination of mandatory returns on internal inspections and risk assessments. This includes the security of server rooms, fire alarm tests, maintenance logs, estates issues, meter readings, etc on all CPS premises.
* To carry out host office security reviews highlighting the risks to Area managers. The postholder will liaise with external partners within the courts and police stations regarding risks/accommodation and FS&H issues that need to be rectified, ensuring timely resolution.
* Take responsibility for and ownership of the Area Business Continuity and Resilience Plan. Ensuring that the ABM and CCP have the relevant assurances that the business will continue in the event of IT outages, building disasters, etc.
* Will lead on and provide advice on all aspects of FS&H for the Area ensuring Units are complying with H&S requirements and legislation. Undertake H&S compliance and assurance activity on premises where CPS staff work. Ensure staff are appropriately trained (Fire Marshalls, First Aid, DSE, Manual Handling Assessors, etc).
* Liaison with external CJS partners where they may have been responsible for a breach.
* Act as a first point of contact for advice and guidance on estates management, security, data protection/handling and records issues.
* Assist the ABM with Departmental Security Unit compliance visits and HMCPSi inspection visits.

Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check. People working with government assets must complete basic personnel security standard checks.
Qualifications
It is desirable that a candidate has a professional qualification and/or experience in facilities management, Health and Safety and/or security.
