Hours: 4-12 hours per week, during school holidays

Contract Type: Casual / Session-based (School Holiday Only)
Rate of Pay: £13.25 for non drivers and £14.25 for Drivers with Business Insurance
Role Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Outreach Workers to support children and young people with additional needs during school holiday periods. The role involves providing engaging, safe, and person-centred support in community and outreach settings, helping young people to build confidence, develop social skills, and enjoy positive holiday experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 or small group outreach support to children and young people with additional needs
Support young people to access community activities
Plan and deliver age-appropriate, inclusive, and engaging activities
Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
Follow individual support plans and risk assessments
Build positive relationships with young people, families, and colleagues
Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and organisational policies are followed at all times
Accurately record session notes and report any concerns to the appropriate staff member
Essential Criteria
Experience of working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs (e.g. SEND, neurodiversity, learning disabilities, or behavioural needs)
A caring, patient, and reliable approach
Ability to work independently in outreach/community settings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Willingness xlqdzyr to travel to locations across the North East, including Consett and Durham
Desirable Criteria
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Health & Social Care, Youth Work, Education, or similar)
Knowledge of inclusive practice and person-centred support
Experience delivering activities during holiday or short-break provision
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Hours are offered on a flexible basis during school holidays only

Training and ongoing support will be provided
