The Role

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will manage a defined caseload, using evidence-based practice and person-centred care to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings.

The post holder is expected to develop relevant clinical skills, knowledge and experience without direct supervision.

Duties will vary depending on the specialty.

In this key role, you will:

1. Responsible for Occupational Therapy triage, assessment and rehabilitation for a defined caseload.
2. Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and modify treatment interventions to meet individual patient needs.
3. Responsible for the assessment and prescription of equipment to optimise patients occupational performance.
4. Assess capacity to engage in Occupational Therapy. Gain informed consent and work within a legal framework with patients.

What You'll Bring:

5. Degree in Occupational Therapy
6. Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
7. Knowledge of application of the theory underpinning OT practice
8. The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
9. Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills

A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
