We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 1 driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering wooden Palletts to various locations. This role involves operating flatbed vehicles and strapping while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of service. This is a lovely family firm, you will drop or collect around 4 customers per day. These are regular customers so once you have learnt the routes, the job will become second nature. 6am start with an average day of around 10 hours.
Responsibilities
Operate flatbed lorries to transport goods safely and efficiently.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of goods during transit.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns from clients.
Experience
Proven experience as a Commercial Driver with a valid driving licence for Class1 flatbed vehicles.
Familiarity with delivery driver duties and responsibilities is preferred.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
A professional attitude with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
