ScotRail has an opportunity for a Workforce Development Officer to join the Workforce Development Team, focused on supporting the delivery of programmes to ensure we meet our current and future workforce requirements and prepare individuals for successful careers. In this role, you’ll help design, deliver and support programmes that create meaningful routes into employment and development across ScotRail. This includes apprenticeships, graduate pathways and the delivery of vocational qualifications, working closely with colleagues, partners and learners to support positive learner experiences and outcomes. What you’ll be involved in * Supporting the development and delivery of workforce development, apprenticeship, graduate and employability programmes * Delivering and supporting vocational qualifications, including assessment activity, learner support and ensuring quality standards and compliance requirements are met * Working with colleagues across the business to understand skills needs and align development activity to operational priorities * Supporting the design and delivery of training and pre‑employment programmes that create routes into ScotRail careers * Contributing to activity aligned with national and regional strategies such as Developing the Young Workforce and any broader employability strategies to support people into employment. * Contributing to reports, updates and programme information to support effective planning, monitoring and decision‑making * Building positive relationships with internal teams, training providers and external partners * Representing the Workforce Development Team at events and across the ScotRail network What you’ll bring Essential: * Experience supporting apprenticeships, vocational learning, graduate programmes, employability initiatives or vocational development. * The ability to build relationships and provide effective support to people at different stages of their learning and career journey * A collaborative approach and an interest in helping others develop and succeed * The ability to plan, prioritise and manage time effectively to meet deadlines across multiple pieces of work * The ability to work accurately and maintain quality when managing learner data, documentation and compliance requirements * Confidence using initiative to identify issues, solve problems and make well‑reasoned decisions within agreed frameworks * Clear communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence and build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders Desirable * Assessor Award or Verifier Award (L&D9DI, 11 or equivalent or willing to work towards) * Knowledge of assessment and verification process and all assessment strategies in line with SQA guidelines * Experience in designing and delivering training programmes. * Knowledge of local and national employability strategies. Selection process Selected candidates will be invited to a competency-based interview. All external offers are subject to passing our pre-employment checks which include a criminal record check, medical and referencing. Please note – ScotRail offers a hybrid working model which is typically 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. This role is based at Atrium Court, Glasgow with travel required across the ScotRail network.
