Protocol Education is supporting a structured and well-run BS25 secondary school with their classroom cover and is recruiting an Unqualified Science Supply Teacher / Cover Supervisor.

No prior school experience or teaching qualification needed; science graduates and related disciplines welcome. Full training is provided free of charge.

Inspectors highlighted the school’s broad, ambitious curriculum and improvements in behaviour, with pupils typically working well and engaging in lessons. What is the role?

Supervise KS3 and KS4 Science classes during teacher absence
Guide pupils through pre-set science tasks and activities
Maintain clear routines and calm behaviour expectations
Encourage scientific thinking and focus
Follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies

You’ll manage the classroom and support pupils through planned work — no lesson planning required.

Working pattern

2–5 days per week, flexible
Short-term and longer-term placements
Immediate and ongoing opportunities
Morning call-outs and pre-booked cover

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
