Job overview
To deliver ASDAN-accredited courses to post-16 learners, supporting them in developing employability, personal and social skills, and independent living skills. You will create inclusive, supportive learning experiences that enable students — including those with additional learning needs — to progress toward employment if appropriate, further study, or independent adulthood.
Role specific duties
To lead, coordinate and support a team of support workers in delivering high-quality, person-centred Life Skills for adults with Learning disabilities and associated needs. The Team Leader will ensure that a stimulating, safe and inclusive environment is maintained and that individuals are empowered to achieve their personal goals, develop new skills, and participate in outcome-based activities within the community.
* Plan, prepare, and deliver ASDAN qualifications such as Towards Independence, Employability, Personal Progress, Life Skills Challenge, and other relevant programs.
* Adapt and differentiate resources and activities to meet a diverse range of learner needs, abilities, and aspirations.
* Assess, mark, and internally verify learners' work, ensuring it meets ASDAN's portfolio and moderation requirements.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of learner progress, achievement, and attendance in line with college policies.
* Provide pastoral support and contribute to learners' personal development, confidence building, and preparation for adulthood.
* Work collaboratively with learning support assistants, careers advisors, and other staff to promote positive outcomes for learners.
* Contribute to curriculum planning, enrichment activities, and progression pathways for students transitioning to employment, training, or independent living.
* Attend internal standardisation and moderation meetings and participate in quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of delivery.
* Promote safeguarding, equality, and diversity within the learning environment.
* Lead and supervise a team of service staff, ensuring effective deployment, motivation, and support.
* Co-ordinate the daily running of the service, overseeing timetables, activities, community visits, and transport arrangements.
* Develop and maintain personalised support plans and risk assessments in partnership with People we support, families, and external professionals.
Promote Outcome based approaches, ensuring that individuals are involved in planning and choosing their activities and support.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: £31,000.00-£32,240.00 per year
