A vacancy has arisen for a Human Factors Specialist to join our client's team based in Sunderland. You will join them on a full-time, permanent basis and in return you will be rewarded with a competitive salary, up to £61,000 DOE. About the role: As their Human Factors Specialist you will support the Head of EHS, and the business by providing expert technical leadership to the business on human factors, by developing and delivering the understanding and application of human factors principles to safety in the business. This role is also key in leading our culture and behaviours programme of work across the business and its partners. Key responsibilities as the Human Factors Specialist will include: Provide an expert advisory service supporting the business on human factors principles in relation to safety, ensuring that changes in legislation and best practice are brought into the business as swiftly as possible Perform Work task analysis and writing task instructions for the engineers to perform in the field. Leading the design and implementation of a learning and just culture both within the client and its partners Leading the integration of human factors principles in the design and delivery of effective and usable health and safety management systems Leading the implementation of a culture of understanding the causes of and mitigating human error in our work, including through integrating human factors into our existing investigation processes Leading key pieces of companywide work in relation to human factors in behaviour & culture, personal and process safety Leading the business on human factors risks, including but not limited to fatigue management What they're looking for in their Human Factors Specialist: Qualifications: BSc Human Factors / Ergonomics / Organisational Psychology or equivalent Member of IEHF NEBOSH Certificate (desirable) Full driving licence Knowledge, Experience and Technical Know-How: Off shore, engineering background would be beneficial Health and Safety Legislation Human factors principles, standards and methods, and their role and application within major hazard industries Human error and reliability assessment Influencing and developing behaviour and culture Ergonomics Fatigue management Shift pattern design Applying human factors principles to Safety Management System design and implementation; Supporting accident investigation teams with human factors advice and leadership Implementing human factors approaches into an organisation and delivering change Experience of interacting with senior internal and external stakeholders, such as the HSE and industry groups So, if this sounds like the perfect opportunity for you and you'd like to become our client's Human Factors Specialist then please click ‘apply' today – don't miss out, they'd love to hear from you!
