Position OverviewSeeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing Building Services design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design of HVAC systems and plumbing, through to construction for a variety of exciting and challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and specification of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, domestic water, drainage, and specialist systems
* Produce detailed calculations using industry software such as Hevacomp, Revit MEP, and AutoCAD
* Prepare design drawings, technical specifications, and tender documentation
* Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and external consultants to ensure seamless integration of building services
* Attend design team meetings, site visits, and inspections as required
* Ensure designs comply with current legislation, standards, and best practice (e.g., CIBSE, Building Regulations, BREEAM)
Key Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
* Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical building services design
* Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Hevacomp, or similar
* Sound knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice (CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS EN)
* Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE) desirable
* Full UK driving licence preferred
