Our client, operating within the Highways sector, is seeking a Senior Traffic Order Officer for a contract position within a London Borough. This role entails leading the drafting, checking, and progression of permanent traffic orders. You will ensure that these orders are robust, timely, and compliant with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices. Key Responsibilities: Lead on the drafting and legal processing of permanent Traffic Regulation Orders to support scheme delivery Input into statutory consultations and legal publication processes Maintain up-to-date records and maps of TROs Supervise consultants or agency staff when required Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and The Council's local policies Job Requirements: Strong understanding of the legal frameworks and statutory processes for Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) and rights of way orders Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail Confidence in technical drafting and process management Experience working in a local authority or consultancy environment Familiarity with the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Traffic Management Act 2004, and Highways Act 1980 Ability to manage deadlines and communicate clearly across a range of audiences This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work up to three days a week in the office, as arranged with the line manager.
