Job Title: GCSE Tutor (with SEN Experience) – Home-Based
We are seeking a dedicated and patient GCSE Tutor with experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to provide at-home tuition. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and committed to helping students reach their full potential in a comfortable home environment.
Location: In-person, at the student’s home (location details to be provided upon enquiry)
Hours: Flexible, part-time (during the school day is preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored GCSE-level tutoring in core subjects (e.g., English, Maths, Science).
* Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the individual learning style and SEN requirements of the student.
* Offer a patient, structured, and supportive learning environment.
* Track student progress and provide regular feedback to parents/guardians.
Requirements:
* Proven experience teaching or tutoring at GCSE level.
* Strong understanding of SEN, with previous experience working with students with additional needs (e.g., ADHD, dyslexia, autism).
* Ability to plan engaging, accessible lessons.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
* Knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
