Job Description & Requirements Specialty: OR - Operating Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/24/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Ambulatory Operating Room RN with at least one year of perioperative experience and an active SC or compact RN license. Responsibilities Ambulatory Operating Room setting within a perioperative facility Unit includes 2 ORs, 2 GI procedural rooms, 1 VIR procedural room, and 20 pre/post-op bays Patient population includes orthopedics, interventional radiology, gastrointestinal, ophthalmology, ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, endocrine, surgical oncology, plastics, and robotics No general surgery, labor & delivery, or pediatric cases Day shift schedule: 4x10 hour shifts (6:30am - 5:00pm) Occasional late shifts scheduled a few times per month No on-call required Possibility of floating within the perioperative facility EMR system used is Epic Pre/post RN duties include preparing patients by reviewing history, medication reconciliation, obtaining vital signs, starting IVs, administering PO meds, and post-anesthesia recovery and discharge Team structure includes 10 RNs and 1 PCT supporting pre-op and PACU activities All required modules must be completed prior to start, averaging about 4 hours RTO (requested time off) must be submitted and approved prior to assignment; multiple requests within a contract may be denied Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate; locals are considered at a local rate Block scheduling may be considered at manager discretion First-time travelers are not accepted for this position May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November) Requirements Active SC or compact RN license in hand or proof of pending application American Heart Association BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of recent perioperative nursing experience Well-rounded skills and experience with ophthalmology, ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, endocrine, surgical oncology, plastics, robotics, total joints, and ENT cases Experience with Epic EMR preferred Radiation badge to be provided by the parent company Social Security Number and Driver's License required for consideration Previous employees must have a 1-year separation from the system before returning as a traveler Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-626739.
