Are you a patient, creative, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a mornings-only role that’s both rewarding and impactful? Join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barnet, where you’ll play a key role in supporting a young learner’s transition from a special school into mainstream education. We are seeking an experienced or specialist TA to support a Year 3 child with autism who is non-verbal and currently working at a pre-reception level. The child can be calm and focused but may also experience occasional meltdowns, so a caring and understanding approach is essential. You will work alongside another dedicated TA, sharing 1:1 responsibilities, stepping in to cover sessions, and leading play-based, sensory learning activities that spark engagement and joy. As this is a mornings-only position, you’ll work intensively with the pupil until they leave for the day (currently around 9:40am), before supporting the wider class for the remainder of the morning. What We’re Looking For: • Experience working with autistic or non-verbal children. • A calm, nurturing, and patient personality. • A passion for creative, play-led learning rather than academic focus. • Reliability and commitment to a mornings-only schedule. Why Join Us: • Supportive and welcoming school team. • Opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a child’s development. • Ideal for educators seeking a part-time, mornings-only role with purpose and balance.
