Opportunity to develop your skills, knowledge and experience associated with delivering on regulatory responsibilities related to natural resources Overview: Full Time, 38 hours per week Temporary until 14 May 2027 Location: Negotiable Supervising Fisheries Officer – Salary from $147,201 up to $151,340 per annum (FTE) plus super and leave loading Expenses: Expenses outside the normal operation of this role will not be considered. About the Role This professional development opportunity is within the Fisheries Compliance Unit of DPIRD Fisheries & Forestry, presenting opportunity to develop your skills, knowledge and experience in a range of capabilities, associated with delivering on regulatory responsibilities related to natural resources. You will be responsible for managing the Zone, allocating resources, setting priorities and developing projects. The role’s activities include: Review and endorse fisheries compliance activities using a risk-based approach to maximise voluntary compliance and create effective deterrence. Case manage complex investigations Review evidence, offence reports, briefing notes and correspondence Developing, reviewing and approving operational planning material Engaging in routine patrol duties and planned operations Leading and supervising statewide staff, investigations and operations About You To be eligible to be considered for this position you will need to:- Be currently Authorised as a Fisheries Officer under the Fisheries Management Act Have within the last 2 years competently completed Baton Handcuff & Tactical Communications Training Completed a Cert IV in Government Investigations Hold a ASMA issued Coxswain certificate of capacity Grade 1/2 near coastal or higher.
