Workshop Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a Workshop Engineer to carry out repair, maintenance, and preparation work on a range of materials‑handling and related equipment. This role involves fault diagnosis, repair, documentation, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose faults and identify required parts
* Carry out repairs, modifications, rental preparation and PDI's
* Complete inspection and defect reports accurately
* Manage and order parts and sub‑contract services when needed
* Maintain accurate records and use company systems/laptop
* Uphold excellent health, safety, and housekeeping standards
* Occasional site visits
* Communicate professionally with internal teams

Person Specification
Suitable for mechanically or electrically biased engineers, including: automotive, HGV, mobile plant, forklift, and ex‑forces engineers.
Ideal candidates will:
* Hold a full driving licence
* Have customer‑facing experience
* Be confident working independently
* Have good literacy, numeracy, and basic IT skills
* Hold an engineering background or relevant apprenticeship/qualification
* (Desirable) Have materials handling experience
