Overview
We are looking for an experienced, caring and motivated individual to lead a supported living service providing support for 7 tenants with learning disabilities and complex mental health needs living in their own homes. The service provides 24-hour support and is located in Carlisle, convenient for Stanwix, parkland and the city centre.
The role requires flexible working to include evenings and weekends as part of a rota (37.5 hours per week).
Responsibilities
* Lead a supported living service providing personalised support to seven tenants with learning disabilities and complex mental health needs.
* Coordinate staff planning, deployment and supervision to ensure high-quality care and promote independence for service users.
* Directly provide support as needed and work with families and other agencies; participate in support planning with multi-disciplinary teams.
* Ensure compliance with relevant mental health legislation and recovery principles; maintain effective verbal and written communication.
Qualifications
* Minimum of Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification; relevant social care degree or qualified social worker preferred.
* Previous experience with mental health problems and learning disabilities in community or supported living settings.
* Skills in positive engagement, knowledge of positive behavioral support, and strong leadership, planning and coordination abilities.
* Ability to communicate confidently and work with multidisciplinary teams; understanding of recovery model principles and mental health legislation.
