About the role
The role of Teaching Assistant across our Academy is to promote the learning and welfare of students by providing practical and learning support to students, including those with statements of special educational needs, under the direction of the class teacher.
You will work in close collaboration with our teaching body to deliver the current curriculum to students and ensure all students are engaging with their education. In this role, you will be expected to support with the management of behaviour within the classroom, as well as work in a variety of whole-class exercises, on a one-to-one basis and in small focus groups.
We are looking for an individual who has high aspirations for students, who is committed and passionate about learning, who has the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and who shares our single goal of 'Students First'.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, which will allow them to engage with students and staff, and will work as part of an inclusion team supporting students in all necessary interventions. Examples of the work you will be expected to deliver are:
* Taking responsibility for a caseload of students inside and outside of the classroom during structured or unstructured time.
* Delivering intervention programmes to individuals and small groups, preparing relevant and appropriate learning experiences in conjunction with the department staff.
The hours of this position are Monday to Friday, working 6.5 hours per day, term time only plus 5 days.

The academy received a good judgement in their 2017 Ofsted inspection. However in July 2022 the academy was given a notice to improve judgement. Leadership has significantly changed and a comprehensive improvement plan has been implemented to secure sustainable long term change for the academy.
