Commercial and Income Generation Director
St Wilfrid’s Hospice is seeking an experienced Commercial and Income Generation Director to join our Executive Leadership Team at a pivotal moment in our transformation journey.
This senior leadership role carries responsibility for a diverse income portfolio exceeding £5 million, spanning fundraising, retail, legacies, donor development and commercial trading. With the role recently redesigned, you will lead the development and delivery of a bold commercial strategy to strengthen income, diversify revenue streams and secure the hospice’s long‑term financial sustainability.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will work closely with Trustees, senior leaders and external partners to modernise income‑generating activity, improve performance and identify new commercial opportunities – always balancing commercial rigour with our charitable purpose.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and delivery of a bold commercial strategy to strengthen income.
* Modernise income‑generating activities across fundraising, retail, legacies, donor development and commercial trading.
* Improve performance of income streams and identify new commercial opportunities.
* Balance commercial rigour with the hospice’s charitable purpose.
Key Qualifications
* Commercially astute leader with a strong track record in income growth, turnaround and strategic leadership.
* Experience in the hospice or charity sector is welcome but not essential.
* Equally suitable for candidates from commercial, retail or social enterprise backgrounds who are motivated by impact as well as results.
