General Manager – JD Gyms, Shrewsbury
JD Gyms is a rapidly expanding, award‑winning gym chain across the UK. We invest heavily in creating top‑quality, stylish club environments to deliver an outstanding fitness offering. We’re looking for an inspirational leader with proven commercial ability to drive and develop our new gym in Shrewsbury.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all policies and procedures in the Health & Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
* Adhere to and maintain JD Gyms Brand Standard.
* Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks and report and chase all defects.
* Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to guarantee operational coverage and daily expectations.
* Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep the team updated.
* Drive and maximise sales and membership targets and secondary spending revenue.
* Maintain the gym facility to the highest standard of cleanliness; ensure in‑house cleaners meet the required standards.
* Manage the weekly banking process to minimise wastage and variance, thereby maximising profit.
* Enforce uniform standards for all team members.
* Deliver outstanding member service and foster a positive work environment.
* Represent JD Gyms as an ambassador.
Skills and Experience
* Proven management experience in a leisure or fitness‑related industry.
* Passionate about customer service and inspirational leadership.
* Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
* Track record of driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity, recruiting and managing successful teams.
* Experience as General Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility, or substantial experience as Fitness Manager or similar operational role.
