The job bit
A New Zealand working holiday visas allow you to work anywhere in the country and in most sectors, giving you the flexibility to find career or casual work. If you want the security of having a job lined up, you can reach out and video interview for jobs on our Job Hub before you go – or apply when you land. Typical jobs include working in bars, restaurants, hotels, resorts, farms and ski resorts. In your Auckland group arrival week, there’s also an in-person job workshop and help sorting all the work essentials – like your tax number and New Zealand bank account.
The money bit
New Zealand has a high minimum wage – currently NZD $22.70/hour. For positions related to your trade, profession or training, such as working in marketing, fitness, beauty, plumbing and everything between – you can expect to earn the equivalent or higher than you do in the UK. If you're looking for seasonal work to earn money in-between travelling, then harvest, vineyard and fruitpicking jobs are the way to go. They often include cheap staff housing, so are a great way to meet other travellers and work outdoors.
The visa bit
To work in New Zealand, you’ll need to be eligible for a New Zealand working holiday visa. This allows 18-30 or 35 year olds (depending on your nationality) to work for one-three years (depending on your nationality). We include the cost of your visa and even apply for it for you. Too easy.
