The Role
As a Substance Use Worker, you’ll provide direct support to individuals navigating substance misuse. You’ll work closely with clients to develop personalized recovery plans, deliver harm reduction interventions, and connect them with wider support services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct assessments and develop recovery-focused care plans
2. Deliver 1:1 keywork sessions and group interventions
3. Support clients in accessing housing, benefits, and mental health services
4. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and peer mentors
5. Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development
About You
We’re looking for someone empathetic, proactive, and resilient. You’ll have a genuine interest in supporting people through recovery and a strong understanding of the challenges they face.
Essential:
6. Experience in substance misuse, mental health, or social care
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
9. Basic IT skills and record-keeping abilities
10. Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 3 in Substance Misuse or equivalent)
11. Experience delivering psychosocial interventions
12. Lived experience of recovery (applications welcomed)
