Quality Assurance Engineer - Defence Sector
Location: Bristol
Security Clearance: SC (Eligible for clearance)
We're seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to uphold and drive excellence across our defence programmes and internal functions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As part of our Quality team, you’ll ensure project and organisational compliance with MOD, ISO, and regulatory standards—supporting mission-critical systems and capabilities.
This role involves:
* Developing and maintaining a robust Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with defence and ISO standards
* Conducting detailed audits across projects and corporate processes to maintain assurance and compliance
* Leading continuous improvement activities across key defence programmes
* Supporting lifecycle assurance—from concept through to in-service support
* Providing training and expert guidance across teams to promote a culture of quality and regulatory awareness
* Leading internal and external non-conformance investigations to closure
* Managing the audit schedule, including external assessments (e.g., BSI audits)
* Monitoring changes in defence regulations and updating business processes accordingly
* Supporting resilience and contingency planning to protect operational continuity
What You’ll Bring:
* Strong auditing experience in a defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated environment
* Solid understanding of ISO standards including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001
* Knowledge of Quality Engineering tools, statistical methods, and continuous improvement techniques (e.g., Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, FMEA)
* A methodical and collaborative approach to quality management
Eligibility for SC (Security Clearance) – essential for working on classified programmes
