THE POSITION:
Prospero are looking for someone with experience to work closely with a child with Special Educational Needs, in a year 2 class. The opportunity is full-time and long-term and will be supporting the child on an ongoing basis following completion of a successful trial period at the school.
For this position as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to provide 1:1 support to a student and provide general support to other students in the classroom where necessary. The successful applicant will have considerable experience working 1:1 with people with special educational needs and challenging behaviour and will have ideally hold relevant SEND qualifications and training.
The position is open to graduates, experienced LSA’S and applicants with relevant experience.
You must hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one to be considered for this position.
VACANCY DETAILS:
1. Location: East Bristol (BS30)
2. Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
3. Where: Primary School – Year 2
4. Contract: Long-term
5. Hours: Full-time – 8:30-3:30 Monday to Friday
6. Start Date: ASAP
7. Pay Rate: £75 – £85 per day
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
8. Relevant Experience
9. A level of understanding about childcare and special educational needs
10. Previous experience working with children
11. Autism/ASD Training – desirable
12. Autism/ASD Experience – desirable
13. Teaching Assistant Qualifications – desirable
14. Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year – Prospero can offer this training
15. A professional approach to handling difficult situations
To Be Eligible For This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:
16. Hold Right to Work in the UK
17. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
18. Provide two professional references
