As a Controllership Accountant – Statutory Accounts, you will combine your technical accounting knowledge with communication and prioritization skills to ensure accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing key external reporting processes for the Group, such as preparing quarterly and annual accounts and handling investor queries.
2. Accounting for technical elements of the business, including debt, hedging, FX, intercompany, and subsidiary consolidations.
3. Participating in month-end processes, maintaining control environments through balance sheet reconciliations, and attending month-end close meetings.
4. Partnering with finance teams and other departments, including senior management.
5. Engaging in significant group projects like refinancing activities and group reconstructions.
6. Driving process improvements and efficiencies using digital tools and automation.
About You:
You should be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with post-qualification experience, capable of managing and prioritizing workloads with strong attention to detail.
Additional requirements include:
* Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks and deliverables effectively.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and an eye for detail.
* Proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP and digital analytics tools is desirable.
* Confidence in liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to think laterally and challenge the status quo to improve processes.
* Experience coaching junior colleagues.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge.
* Experience in preparing or auditing statutory accounts is a plus.
