About the Role We are looking for a Fashion & Textiles Facilitator to join our Higher Education team on a maternity cover basis from Late August/Early September 2026. In this hands‑on technical and learner‑focused role, you will work closely with the course team to support students on our Foundation Degree and BA (Hons) Fashion & Textiles programmes. You’ll plan and deliver practical workshops, provide 1:1 support, and demonstrate specialist equipment, techniques and software to help students achieve their creative goals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a creative environment, enjoys facilitating learning, and is confident in the practical and technical aspects of fashion and textiles. Key Responsibilities Supporting teaching and learning across Fashion & Textiles through practical workshops and 1:1 sessions. Demonstrating equipment, techniques and software, ensuring safe and effective use. Preparing, maintaining and issuing materials, equipment and studio spaces. Assisting with student inductions, technical support, and day‑to‑day enquiries. Supporting end‑of‑year shows, exhibitions and promotional activities. Helping maintain digital learning resources and basic administration such as stock control. Ensuring safe working practices and contributing to risk assessments. What We’re Looking For A qualification in Fashion & Textiles at HND level or above or equivalent industry experience. Good working knowledge of Apple Mac systems and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience demonstrating Fashion/Textiles equipment and techniques to others. Understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH requirements in a creative/photography environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support students and staff effectively.
